Change begins at home. We want the world to know that abortion is wrong and does not align according to scripture, as well as many other things, but it begins when we teach our children and our children’s children what God defines good and evil. The world is made up of families and their families family. The men and women of our world are all son’s and daughter’s of someone.
The Bible reminds us the importance of the greatest ministry we could ever be in and that is the family. Being a parent is the most crucial and valuable ministry because they are the ones that make up the next generation. What is poured out in them defines what values and morals they will have as a grown up.
Deuteronomy 6:11 God tells His people ,”Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” So in every opportunity you have with your children, teach them what is good and right. Not because you say so, but encourage them that our way of life should be to love God with everything and make Jesus the center of all they do. Then this will lead them the way they should go when topics like abortion are presented.
As tough as this subject is, do not neglect to teach them how this world system is so corrupt and has no fear of God or His laws. “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'” (Matthew 19:14) Regardless of their age, God can use even the youngest of us to reach others. Instill in them the faith in the power of God just as much as the children who believe with all their heart Santa is real. It is when they are little that they believe everything. So be quick and alert in the age your child lives in and fill them with the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ through His Word.
Be always in prayer for your children and your children’s children, to stand firm in a world gone wrong. Keep in your faith and hold on to God.
Devotional for Day 25Scripture: “Jesus answered… ‘We have to do the works of the one who sent me while it is day.'” — John 9:4a Reflection: As a believer in Christ, we know that He calls us to do good works out of love for Him and in obedience to Him. Yet there is a struggle within us. We know that with God, all things are possible, and that we are to pray for God’s will in all things. So we are to work, and yet also pray. Pray for God to give us the wisdom, knowledge, courage, and fortitude to do the right things, to do the right work. We also must surrender our own will and desires to him and leave the final outcome to the Lord. Prayer: Lord of Heaven and Earth, we humbly implore You to hear our prayer to enlighten men’s hearts with the light of Your love and truth. Give each and every 40 Days for Life participant in El Paso and Santa Teresa the courage and fortitude to continue to persevere in prayer, fasting, peaceful vigil, and community outreach, to not be afraid to bring awareness of the tragedy of the local abortion centers taking place right in our own backyard. Lord, we really need that courage, that boldness, yet loving gentleness. Help each and every one of us to do the works that You have set out for us to do. Please dear Lord, drive this evil out of our community, region, nation, and the world. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen! |
