Help God end abortion in the Borderland
In September of 2014, the pro-life community of Las Cruces, NM, was shocked to learn that an abortion center was opening in their City of the Crosses. The consensus was unified and immediate: If this facility is working full-time to harm the women and children in our community, how can we as a church only respond part-time?
The Coalition for Life of Las Cruces was organized in 2015 as a new independent nonprofit with a mission of seeing God end abortion in Las Cruces, peacefully and prayerfully. Relying entirely on private donations and a leap of faith, the Coalition hired founder Mark Cavaliere as their full-time Executive Director in May 2016, who sought guidance and on-site training from notable pro-life champions in Houston, Austin, and College Station, Texas, as well as from St. Louis, Missouri.
Only eight months later, the Coalition for Life was honored to announce the permanent closure of the local abortion facility in January 2017 — in spite of the fact that New Mexico is one of the most abortion-friendly states in the nation and is infamous as the late-term abortion capital of the world.
With an updated name and regional focus, the Southwest Coalition for Life is now focused on uniting the pro-life community of El Paso and Southern New Mexico to work together in actively building the culture of life across the Southwest. Together, the Borderland community has now witnessed God close three abortion centers in just over three years.
This full-time, innovative, and highly-focused organization is dedicated to the mission of seeing our entire Southwest region become abortion free — by helping moms be heroes and connecting women to the free, quality, and life-affirming care they need to choose life — and you have an opportunity to be a part of it!
