Day 1: Planned Parenthood El Paso Abortion License Changed to “Inactive”

Last night we had a great kickoff rally where we announced we recently learned that as of July 6, 2021 — two months before the Texas Heartbeat Law went into effect the status of the abortion license for the Planned Parenthood in El Paso was changed to “INACTIVE” … This means that they are not able to perform any abortions, even chemical abortions, under 6 weeks which are still currently allowed by the Heartbeat Law. We are sending out a call to pray and fast.

Keeping Up The Fight

To be clear, the facility is still open as a “health center” but it is no longer licensed as a medical abortion center. This means it is still open to refer women elsewhere for abortions, so we aren’t counting this as a closure yet … but the fact is that God has now stopped abortions at 4 locations in 4 years! This is a HUGE STEP towards seeing this center closed completely, and it is all the more critical for us to pray and fast in peaceful vigil outside this location now more than ever before while they are financially weaker without their revenue from abortions! If you missed the kickoff, you can catch the big announcement and all the other amazing speakers in the video below:

At the same time, it is critical for us to also simultaneously fill our vigil in Santa Teresa as well, which is the last active abortion location in the Borderland. This is the location where women are now driving from across Texas feeling they have no other choice but abortion.

How Can You Help?

If you haven’t signed up for a one-hour shift yet, please click here to email us, or call our office toll-free at 833.388.LIFE.

If you have already signed up for your hour to pray, this year we are urging everyone to consider signing up for one hour each week at both local vigil locations, for a total of just 2 hours of prayer, which is about the same as giving up the time of watching a movie each week to instead pray and fast in peaceful vigil as part of this movement.

Praise God for this amazing update, and for allowing us to be a part of His work as He continues to end the local violence of abortion through your prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil.

Devotional for Day 1

Intention: That we may use these 40 Days for Life to plead for God’s mercy and grace upon all those involved in the sin of abortion.

Scripture: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.” ~ Ephesians 6:10-12

Reflection: We know that the battle to end abortion is a spiritual one, for it comes from the heart of the devil himself. He hates humanity and has wanted to destroy us from the beginning of creation. The workers inside Planned Parenthood and Women’s Reproductive Clinic are not the enemy, nor are the deceived mothers and fathers bringing their children for slaughter, but the devil and his minions are. Therefore, pray and fast diligently for an end to this violence in El Paso and Santa Teresa, with supplications to the Lord Jesus Christ for his mercy and salvation.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, in your love for us, protect those helpless little ones to whom you have given the gift of life against the wickedness of the devil. Touch with pity the hearts of those women pregnant in our Borderland community who are not thinking of motherhood. Help them to see that the child they carry is made in your image — as well as theirs — and made for eternal life. Dispel their fear and selfishness and give them true womanly hearts to love their babies and give them birth and all the needed care that only a mother can give. We ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son, Our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
