The goal of every 40 Days for Life campaign is to have at least 2 people praying in peaceful vigil on the public sidewalk outside local abortion facilities in one-hour shifts from 7AM to 7PM each day for a period of 40 days. Vigils are held in the Spring and Fall each year outside the most strategic locations in the Borderland.

Prayer & Fasting
Prayer is at the center of 40 Days for Life. God is calling people of faith in our community to fall on their knees before the Lord, asking Him to heal our land. Individuals, churches, families, and groups all over the world join together as the entire body of Christ unites in prayer across denominational lines pleading for God’s help to end the injustice of women, children, and families harmed by the violence of abortion; for healing of women and men suffering the pain of past abortions; for the conversion of workers in the abortion industry; and for the closure of local abortion facilities.
Peaceful Vigil
The highlight of 40 Days for Life is a focused, non-stop prayer vigil from 7AM to 7PM each day for 40 days in the public right-of-way outside our local abortion facility. It is a peaceful and educational presence. Those who God calls to stand witness send a powerful message about the tragic reality of abortion just by their silent, prayerful presence. Volunteers commit to one hour shifts to create a continuous chain of prayer while answering Christ’s plea, “Could you not keep watch with me for one hour?” All volunteers sign a Statement of Peace pledging to be peaceful, Christ-like, and law-abiding.
Community Outreach
40 Days for Life has become a global movement of the Holy Spirit because it is locally grassroots. Over 1 million volunteers across all 50 states and 60 nations have taken have taken part because someone like you invited them. Take the 40 Days message to every corner of our community! Invite your friends and family to join you for one hour of prayer! Meet with your pastor, youth minister, or church leaders to get them involved. Spread the message with 40 Days for Life bumper stickers, yard signs, and gear. YOU are the reason 40 Days for Life is the largest pro-life mobilization in history!

Psalm 51: A Prayer of Mercy for Local Abortionist Dr. Franz Theard

Have mercy on [Dr. Theard], O God, in your kindness;
in your compassion blot out [his] offense.
O wash [him] more and more from [his] guilt,
and cleanse [him] from [his] sin.
For [his] offenses truly [he] knows them;
