Day 39: God Never Fails

Day 39- God Never Fails

“Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. Then the Lord said to Joshua, ‘See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.'” (Joshua 6:1-5)

“You yourselves have seen everything the Lord your God has done to all these nations for your sake; it was the Lord your God who fought for you. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.” (Joshua 23:3,14)

This story did happen. We imitate this today not because 7 days of marching is the key to abortion clinics closing, but rather our obedience and faith in God is what moves the mountains in front of us. Each day that we have gone out to pray, is one more day closer to seeing that clinic close.

Just like this passage reminds us, let us not forget that God is the One who fights our battles. He is the One who completes what He says He is. He never fails in keeping His promise nor is “the Lord slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness.” (2 Peter 3:9)  These are all promises we can hold on to and we can be sure they will come into completion.

Here are more pictures of these last few days. I want to let you know that tomorrow is the last day of the Jericho March and is the Closing Rally that marks the 40th day of 40 Days for Life. We are again meeting from 6pm-7pm at Santa Teresa Women’s Reproductive Clinic.  (5290 McNutt Rd)

We will be marching 7 times and will be sharing some great news. Thank you again for dedicating an hour to pray this Fall Campaign.  I hope to see you tomorrow and look forward to seeing you again for our Spring 2022 Campaign.

Devotional for Day 39

Intention: Pray that volunteers will replace exhaustion or discouragement with rejoicing over the miracles we have seen thus far, and enthusiastic service as God takes us on to victory!

Scripture: ” …draw your strength from the Lord and from HIS mighty power. Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm “‘against the tactics of the devil.’ For our struggle is NOT with Flesh and Blood, but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.” – Ephesians 6: 10-12

Reflection:
It’s a paradox isn’t it? We know that the battle against the evil of abortion, is a battle against Satan himself. We also know that in and of ourselves we are nothing, and have no chance of winning. So, all of our efforts, which we know God wants us to engage in, are nothing. We also know that God is Almighty and if He wants to he could destroy Satan, and Abortion, in the blink of an eye! So why do we even do the work? It’s hard to imagine what kind of greater good that God has had in mind by allowing this evil of the holocaust of abortion to exist for as long as it has. Yet, there has to be! Christ said, “follow me.”( Mark 1:17-18) So we follow. St. Paul said that, “we must make up, in our own bodies, what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ.” (Colossians 1:24) So we HAVE to participate in the work to end this evil. God has chosen not to end it on His own, but only in conjunction with the Body of Christ on earth. Pray for Christian unity, and for subjection to the Full revelation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, we beg you to send many angels to guard and protect the vigil participants and sidewalk advocates, to do battle against any and all evil spirits which may try to thwart or discourage them, and also to overthrow their negative influence over the hearts and minds of vulnerable women facing a crisis pregnancy, that they may be able to receive Your message of love, mercy, compassion, and forgiveness, and finally choose life. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
