Day 20: A Prayer of Blessing

Day 20- Pray to end abortion

Today, I want to pray over you. That “the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

You Serve a Living God

He sees your faithfulness in standing for the unborn. He sees your dedication and your trials that have come your way for standing against abortion. He sees how you have persevered in your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray for God’s strength to keep you in the darkest of times and to encourage you to keep fighting the good fight. In His name, a prayer of blessing be over you today.

Know that our prayers are not in vain because they go to a God who is a loving Father. The same God who “bends down to listen” (Psalm 116:2) and has promised that “for where two or three are gathered together in [His] name, [He says,] there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20)

His heart goes out to the innocent and the hurting.

Be reminded that no matter how hard things may get and how long the road ahead for righteousness and justice may seem, we serve a living God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Know that “we [will be] hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9)

Jesus said in John, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

I lift a prayer of blessing, that “the Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, [and who] lives in you” (Romans 8:11) will empower you to continue in the race to see abortion end. Put on the armor of God each day. No one goes to battle without armor and weapons. “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Ephesians 6:13-17)

Lastly, I raise a prayer of blessing over your life and your family that He keeps you under the shadow of His wing and walks before you in your coming and going and be all around you.

Thank you for your commitment of prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil, and may God be with you.

Devotional for Day 20

Scripture: Then, while Jesus was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, arrived accompanied by a crowd with swords and clubs, who had come from the chief priests, the scribes and the elders. His betrayer had arranged a signal with them, saying, “The man I shall kiss is the one; arrest him and lead him away securely.” He came and immediately went over to him and said, “Rabbi.” And he kissed him. At this they laid hands on him and arrested him.” Mark 14:43-46

Reflection: Judas was one of Jesus’ closest friends. He was part of the close circle of disciples, called “apostles.” How could he have betrayed Jesus, and with a kiss at that? In the song “Why,” by Michael Card, there’s a line in the refrain, “Only a friend can betray a friend, a stranger has nothing to gain, and only a friend comes close enough to ever cause so much pain.” How hard it is to speak truth and life to our family and friends. We tend to avoid the touchy subjects. Yet, how can our closest friends, and family members not see the truth about the lies and deception of the abortion industry? What about the clinic workers at the Women’s Reproductive Clinic? Are they practicing Christians? Do some of them aid in pre-born child killing on Saturday, and then go to Church on Sunday? Let’s pray for their eyes to be opened to their betrayal of Christ, repent, and be forgiven.

Prayer: Hear our prayer, Heavenly Father, for all who cooperate with the evil of abortion. For nurses and clerks, for doctors and aides, for relatives and friends, for spouses and parents: Give them clear vision, Lord, to see the evil before them, give them the grace of repentance and true contrition, that they may turn from their sin and vow to never cooperate with this evil again. We ask this through him who is our Truth, Christ the Lord. AMEN (From Stations of the Cross for Life)
